We came into Lantern Head on the south end of Great Inagua Island using Aqua Maps and C-Map (they had the same charted reefs). I want to share our track because there were 2 reefs just below the surface that either weren’t on the charts or maybe weren’t shown in the correct spot. In the attached image, the green dashed line was our actual track, and the “hump” by marker #10 is where these shallow reefs were spotted. I drew black lines on the screen shot to show their approximate location. We carefully threaded between them.

I also just realized I could do a satellite overlay on the aqua maps, and now I can see the reefs we went between. They were almost breaking the surface.
Hi Kathy,
Thanks for the information on the coral head inside the reef at Lantern Head on the south coast of Great Inagua. I just checked a recent photo of the area and the coral is breaking in the area you have marked. This is a much better photo than was available when I drew the chart sixteen years ago. There is a lot of coral in that area and you have to be very careful there.
With the new photo I can redraw the chart. Thanks again for information.
