We arrived and checked in at Great Harbour Cay Marina after a delightful trip from Miami. We actually time to kill so anchored in Bullocks this morning at 0300 for a few hours of shuteye.
We have never stopped here but so many folks have raved about it and what a little gem this is. Lovely folks at the marina so helpful and welcoming and facilities top notch. We are treating ourselves to a couple of days in the marina which is unlike us but need to always be unpredictable! Last night we did the cruise ship zigzag passing close to 20 anchored directly on the rhumb line from Moselle Bank to Bullocks wp. These ships must be doing untold damage to the seabed on this area of the great Bahama Banks, really sad. Spanish Wells fisherman are furious we hear.
Day before yesterday the Bahamian customs instituted the new paperless online custom check in, CLICK2CLEAR. which can be done before leaving the states. The process is long and laboriously we have heard so best to be done ahead of time. Boats will still need to be seen by a customs officer although you can pay them ahead of time vis credit card online.
We had all the paper forms already filled out so we were “grandfathered” after they realized this was not our first rodeo! Immigration remains the same.
